Dee Ann Green

Greetings my name is Dee Ann Green, I have been the secretary at Emmanuel United Methodist Church since August, 1991. In this position at EUMC, I oversee the many day-to-day operations of the church in the areas of communications, membership, finances, scheduling church facilities and helping with food pantry.
My husband Steve and I live in the Beaverdale area of Des Moines. We are the adoptive parents of five grown children, Michael, Sarah, Bob, Marcy and Katy and grandparents to granddaughters, Lauryn and Payton. We share their home with our two adopted dogs; Prince, a beagle-coonhound mix and Snickers, a chihuahua.
Steve and I are both high school graduates of Lamoni High School in southern Iowa. I obtained an AA degree in Secretarial Science from Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, Missouri at a time when electric typewriters were used and shorthand was a course requirement!
My hobbies include exploring an interest in antiques-- by visiting antique stores and attending farm auctions, and traveling to see new destinations--with the goal of wanting to visit all of the states once in my lifetime. Leisure time activities include enjoying outdoor activities, going to the Iowa State Fair each year, watching movies, visiting area dog parks with her dogs, and of course enjoying time with family.
Being raised in a small town, it is a delight to work in a growing church that still keeps the feel of a small town community church. I feel blessed to share my time with the people of Emmanuel UMC.
